WHO recognizes covid-19 Traffic Light System in Mexico; its replicated in other countries: López-Gate
|MEXICO– The Undersecretary of Health, Hugo López-Gatell, announced that the Executive Director of the Health Emergencies Program of the World Health Organization, Michael Ryan, recognized the successful implementation of the epidemiological risk traffic light invented and implemented in Mexico, and now other countries, including Europe, have decided to replicate and adopt the Mexican traffic-light sytem.
“The Mexican traffic light system, has been implemented and used [since January], and now other countries have already started using it. Mexico was one of the first countries to use that system, and we support Mexico to continue using that system, “said Michael Ryan at a WHO conference.
In addition, Dr. Gatell said the WHO highlighted positively Mexico’s transparency in numbers of suspected, confirmed, and deaths cases of the coronavirus.
